The first day of August in the ffifteenth yeare of his Ma[ies]t[ie]s raigne Anno que domini 1639 the aforesaid S[i]r Raphe Whitfeld and Thomas ffother ley his Ma[ies]t[ie]s Com[m]ission[er]s for and on his Ma[ies]t[ie]s behalfe by vertue of the said Com[m]ission and Richard Nugent of Camos in the late County of Londonderry gent[leman] Henry Beresford of Colerane in the said late County gent[leman] and Evyney O’Cahan of Dumboe in the said late County gent[leman] doe conclude and agree that the said Richard Newgent and Henry Beresford their heirs and assignes for and during the naturall life of Dermott [...] late of Dumboe aforesaid, shall have and hold, All that townland commonly called or knowne by the name of Ballymaddegan in Dumboe aforesaid or by whatsoever other name or names the same be called or knowne by the name of Ballymaddegan in Dumboe aforesaid or by whatsoever other name or n ames the same be called or knowne by and conteininge by estimac ion [...] and five acres Irishe measure And all the Ca bins edifices houses and buildings thereup[p]on And allso all waies and passages to the aforesaid premisses or any part thereof belong ing or therewith enjoyed Except and allwaies reserved unto his Majesty his heirs and Successors All Mynes And allso all timber and timber trees growinge or beinge, or which hereaf ter shall grow or be in or up[p]on the premisses or any part thereof with liberty to fell cut downe and carry away the same and liberty to hawk hunt ffishe, and ffowle up[p]on the p[re]misses att reasonable and convenient tymes and allso reservinge and exceptinge unto his Majesty his heirs and Successors all the ffishinge and takeinge of salmon eels and other ffishe in the Rivers, and ffishin gs of Bann and Lough Foyle Lougheagh, als[o] Lough Sydney and in all the rivers creeks and streames within the Province of Ulster an d every of them and all the ground and soyle of the said riv ers creeks and streames, with free liberty Ingresse, egresse, and regress for the Ten[a]nts Occupyers and ffishers of the said rivers and fishings and their servants and assignes to build and make houses sheds

Lands called Natives’ Lands, the same being by the appointment of his late Majesty, King James of ever-blessed memory, heretofore granted and conveyed in fee-simple by the late Society of the Governor and Assistants of London of the new plantation in Ulster within the realm of Ireland to several persons being Irish by birth.

The first day of August in the fifteenth year of his Majesty’s reign, annoque domini 1639, the aforesaid Sir Ralph Whitfeld and Thomas Fotherley, his Majesty’s commissioners for and on his Majesty’s behalf by virtue of the said commission, and Richard Nugent of Camus [Macosquin] in the late county of Londonderry, gentleman, Henry Beresford of Coleraine in the said late county, gentleman, and Eveny O’Cahan of Dunboe in the said late county, gentleman, do conclude and agree that the said Richard Nugent and Henry Beresford, their heirs and assigns, for and during the natural life of Dermot […], late of Dunboe aforesaid, shall have and hold all that townland commonly called or known by the name of Ballymadigan in Dunboe aforesaid, or by whatsoever other name or names the same be called or known by and containing by estimation […] and five acres Irish measure. And all the cabins, edifices, houses, and buildings thereupon. And also all ways and passages to the aforesaid premises or any part thereof belonging or therewith enjoyed.
