The said second day of September the said Com[m]issioners for and on his Majesty’s behalfe by vertue of the said Com[m]ission and Salomon Mc Crenor of Cumber in the late County of Londonderry yeoman doe conclude and agree that the said Salomon and his assignes shall have and hold all that townland com[m]only called or knowne by the name of Gortin Reade [...] in CumberCumber aforesaid or by whatsoever other name or names the same be called or knowne and conteininge by estimac[i]on fowerscore and sixe acres Irish measure and all Cabyns, edifices [and] buildings thereup[p]on and allso all waies [and] passages to the aforesaid premisses or any part thereof belonginge or formerly enioyed therew[i]th Exceptinge and reservinge unto his Ma[ies]ty his heyres and Successors all tymber and tymber trees saplings, storiers, [and] great trees Mynes and quarryes in up[p]on or belonginge to the aforesaid p[re]misses or any p[ar]te thereof And all such reasonable [and] convenient wayes and passages over the p[re]misses for the Ten[a]nts [and] Occupyers of his Ma[ies]t[ie]s other lands as have form[er]ly beene used. And all the River of Loughfoyle, and all other rivers creekes and streames in or neere the p[re]misses and the soyle and ground thereof and all the ffishinge and takinge of Salmons Eeles and other ffishe in the said Rivers Creekes and Streames with free liberty for his Ma[ies]ty his heires and Successors and his and their Ten[a]nts and ffarmers and the ffishers of the said Rivers, Creekes, streames, and ffishinges to make houses and draw their netts and doe any other thing else whatsoever uppon the p[re]misses concerninge [th]e said ffishings for the terme of one and twenty yeares ffrom [th]e ffeast of Phillipp and Jacob now last past for and under the yearly rent of tenn pounds sterlinge paiable into the Receipt of his M ajesty’s Exchecq[ue]r in England or unto the hands of the Receivor of his Ma[ies]ty his heyres and Successors for the tyme beinge for the Revennue of Londonderry als[o] Derry and Colerane or either of them att the ffeasts of All S[ai]nts and Phillipp and Jacob by equall porc[i]ons uppon condic[i]on that the said Terme shall cease and be voyd if the said rent or any part thereof shall be behind and unpayed ffifty dayes next after any of the said ffeasts and dayes of payment aforesaid And the said Salomon or his assignes shall att his or their prop[er] costs and charges within five yeares now next com[m]inge erect, and build, and fully finishe uppon the p[re]misses one sufficient and substantiall house of Timber stone or Bricke after the manner of an English house two stories highe and conteininge fower roomes att the least And the said Solomon or some other able and sufficient Ten[a]nt with his ffamily

thereupon, and also all ways and passages to the aforesaid premises or any part thereof belonging or formerly enjoyed therewith, with and under such and the like exceptions and for the term of one and twenty years from the feast of Phillip and Jacob now last past, for and under the yearly rent of sixteen pounds sterling payable in such manner and at such days and times and with, under, and upon such and the like condition, covenants, and agreements as in the foresaid agreement made by the said commissioners and Robert Downs beforenamed are contained. In witness whereof the said commissioners and the said Brian McOwen O’Cahan have put to their hands the day and year abovewritten:

Solomon Mc Crenor 5.

The said second day of September, the said commissioners for and on his Majesty’s behalf by virtue of the said commission, and Solomon Mc Crenor of Cumber [Cumber Lower] in the late county of Londonderry, yeoman, do conclude and agree that the said Solomon and his assigns shall have and hold all that townland commonly called or known by the name of Gortinreid, […] in Cumber [Cumber Lower] aforesaid, or by whatsover other name or names the same be called or known, and containing by estimation four-score and six acres Irish measure and all cabins, edifices, and buildings thereupon, and also all ways and passages to the aforesaid premises or any part thereof belonging or formerly enjoyed therewith. Excepting and reserving unto his Majesty, his heirs and successors all timber and timber trees, saplings, storiers and great trees, mines, and quarries in, upon, or belonging to the aforesaid premises or any part thereof. And all such reasonable and convenient ways and passages over the premises for the tenants and occupiers of his Majesty’s other lands as have formerly been used. And all the River of Foyle and all other rivers, creeks, and streams in or near the premises and the soil and ground thereof, and all the fishing and taking of salmon, eels, and other fish in the said rivers, creeks, and streams, with free liberty for his Majesty, his heirs and successors and his and their tenants and farmers and the fishers of the said rivers, creeks, streams, and fishings to make houses and draw their nets and do any other thing else whatsover upon the premises concerning the said fishings, for the term of one and twenty years from the feast of Phillip and Jacob now last past, for and under the yearly rent of ten pounds sterling payable into the receipt of his Majesty’s Exchequer in England, or unto the hands of the Receiver of his Majesty, his heirs and successors for the time being, for the revenue of Londonderry, also Derry, and Coleraine or either of them at the feasts of All Saints and Phillip and Jacob by equal portions, upon condition that the said term shall cease and be void if the said rent or any part thereof shall be behind and unpayed fifty days next after any of the said feasts and days of payment aforesaid. And the said Solomon or his assigns shall, at his or their proper costs and charges within five years now next coming, erect and build and fully finish upon the premises one sufficient and substantial house of timber, stone, or brick after the manner of an English house two stories high and containing four rooms at the least.
